The Walmart paint team wanted to update the name and design of their existing Color Place brand. HomeShades was chosen and the the brand team was looking for a simple, contemporary look. After a few conceptual rounds, the 'hills' concept was chosen. The need for a standard label and a Grab-N-Go label was necessary. The standard labels come in blue, purple and green 'hills', indicating paint finishes. The Grab-N-Go label 'hills' indicate the actual paint color. This design won a 2015 GDUSA Magazine Packaging Design Award.

One of Walmart's flagship brands, Faded Glory, is going through a redesign. These four concepts are currently going through testing. The idea was to bring Faded Glory into a more simple and sophisticated look so it can move into more apparel areas such as formal wear and activewear.
